Your body is the most brilliant, sophisticated system you’ll ever manage.
It’s time to start
treating it like one.
High-performance training, education, and speaking engagements for the people who carry heavy loads and make it look easy.
Hard work got you this far, integration will take you further.
You are not undertrained. You are not undisciplined. You have excellent people in your corner; coaches, clinicians, trainers who are great at what they do.
And still. Something isn’t connecting.
Recovery is taking longer than it should.
You’ve plateaued somewhere, but don’t know where exactly.
Everything “looks fine” on paper and you still feel like you’re operating at 80% of what you know you’re capable of.
This is not a failure of effort or expertise. It’s a lack of integration.
The performance world is built on specialization, and thank god for that! Specialists save careers, seasons, and lives. Specialists create systems, teams, and art.
AND performance doesn’t happen in isolation. Your body doesn’t perform in parts, even though you treat it that way.
The thing is, when parts aren’t talking to each other, the whole system compensates. Those compensations then become patterns. Those patterns evolve limitations. And eventually, those limitations become the ceiling you keep smashing into no matter how hard you work.
And let’s be real, you can work REALLY hard.
This is the space I live and work in.
I am not here to replace your existing team. I am here to connect the dots between them.
I work with you where movement patterns reveal what imaging can’t. I look at how your feet are negotiating with your hips, where your ribcage and pelvis relate to each other, and where your body has gotten very creative about protecting you from something it’s afraid of.
I find the conversation that’s missing and then build from there.
Because sustainability is a performance metric. And you’re not here to peak once.

How I work to connect the dots…
Where you are
You perform at a high level. You have a team, a practice, a body of work (literal and figurative) that you continue to build through discipline, expertise, and a drive that just won’t quit. You’re not here because something went wrong. And even if it did, you’re here because you know something’s missing.
Where you get stuck
Somewhere between the specialists and the performance you know you’re capable of, there’s a gap. It shows up as a plateau that doesn’t respond to more work, recovery that stalls for no identifiable reason and/or a feeling that is hard to name yet impossible to ignore, that something in your body isn’t right.
What I do
I look at how you move. I notice global movement patterns and how your body organizes in response to stress and increased load. I find where your compensations live, what your body is trying to protect and why.
Drawing from the classical Pilates methodology, applied biomechanics, and over twenty years of clinical and performance experience, I build programming that doesn’t just address the parts. It reorganizes, addresses, and integrates your whole system.
I work with individuals, organizations, athletic programs, and clinical teams as an educator and speaker. I bring the perspective and framework of integration to practitioners who work with high performers every day.
What changes
Your body stops working around itself and starts working as itself. Recovery accelerates because you’re not fighting compensatory patterns anymore allowing you to make real progress. Performance builds on an actual foundation instead of a series of workarounds. You build fluency to clearly understand what your body is telling you which means you stop wasting time and start advancing.
Whether you’re looking to book an electrifying speaker, invest in yourself, or start training like you mean it, you’re in the right place..
Ready for real progress?

Six Week Online Program (LIVE)
Unclenched
For the person who white knuckles their way through life and is ready to find out what’s possible when they let go.
A tense muscle is a limited, dysfunctional muscle. The smaller range of motion and reduced capacity leaves you with a body working twice as hard to do half the job.
A healthy muscle can fully contract AND fully release giving you a wide range of motion, real strength, and a body ready to respond to external stressors. This shows up in your squat, downward dog, sex life, and your ability to sneeze with confidence in public.
Yea. The pelvic floor affects everything.
Unclenched is a six week online series teaching you to find and utilize your fullest range of motion giving you stronger muscles, better sex, and confident sneezes.
Unclenched runs twice a year (sometimes three times if I’m feeling spicy). It includes 6 weeks of online movement classes and lessons to learn about the pelvic floor and why it matters so much for better movement and strength AND includes LIVE virtual calls to answer your Q’s with my A’s AND provide accountability and community.
This is not a relaxation program. This is intelligent, intentional strength work. The kind that starts with learning to release so that when you contract, you mean it.

People like me. They really like me.
You are such an amazing teacher and friend. I always feel supported and well taken care of. You’ve been so knowledgeable and have armed me with so much more knowledge about my own body. You are the best pilates instructor I’ve worked with. – Stephanie Olsen
My wonderful Pilates instructor, Alissa Alter, is very precise and funny, and this goes a long way in getting me to exercise. – Annabelle Selldorf
Honestly, your insights are really profound, pulling out all sorts of wisdom and advice for all shapes, sizes, colors. – Heather Bottom, Systems Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Before working with Alissa I was concerned about prolapse and a general feeling of heaviness in my vagina. With regular, focused exercise I feel more secure in my sexuality. I’ve started attending my local yoga class again without worrying about ‘leaking’ urine. Working with Alissa made me feel stronger and engaged in a community. – Wendy Cox
My favorite thing about having Alissa speak with us is her incredible ability to have the room laughing unabashedly! Our topics ranged from the ordinary to the profound, and Alissa lit the room with her effusive lightness. She has this ability to make you feel like she “gets you,” which helps the conversation go so much deeper. People couldn’t stop talking about her disarming ability to relate to the myriad of experiences we discussed such as motherhood to peeing your pants when you sneeze – and everything in between. – Lindsay Vestal OTR/L
Who doesn’t want highly-technical, professional content with a healthy dose of humor? – Kate Woska Chief Marketing Officer & Head of Product at Circa
Thank YOU for hosting such an amazing workshop! I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this, but workshops can be…”stuffy”, and as a fellow theatre kid, I’m like “you guys know you can have FUN, right?” And your workshop was so informative AND fun! As for my back, it felt so good afterwards and even yesterday when I woke up. I kind of thought I was being punked. I was like no way it was that simple. – Harper LaBrozzi
Before working with Alissa, I was struggling with uh… peeing myself? Existing? PAIN! I chose to work with Alissa because I love her approach in looking at ALL the pieces holistically and explaining the “why.” Alissa isn’t a cheerleader-type coach, she’s highly educated and specializes in all the things I needed. I LOVE the lil experiments we did. Don’t make it weird, just try something for a week. I got a lot of fun quips from Alissa, which I use every day. My favorite being “Treat yourself like a baby.” I lowkey think we could solve world peace this way??? – Emelie Sanders
