Your Body Isn’t Mad at You — It’s Asking for Help
December 1, 2025
Did you wake up today feeling like your body is… confused?
Tight?
Puffy?
Creaky?
Disorganized?
Physically, energetically, and emotionally hungover?
All of the above?
Congratulations! You are a human being who just survived Thanksgiving!!!
Not to worry! I’ve got you!
There is nothing wrong with you. Your body is accurately responding to the conditions of the holiday season.
Thanksgiving is a perfect storm of…
• More sitting
• Less hydration
• More sugar/salt/alcohol
• Travel
• Chaotic sleep
• Different chairs, mattresses, couches
• Emotional dynamics (which are basically plyometrics for your nervous system)
• And let’s be honest… some shallow breathing and butt clenching during “that” conversation at the table…
So of COURSE your body feels off!!! YOUR BODY IS HAVING A VERY REASONABLE REACTION TO THE HOLIDAYS!!!
It’s not a punishment.
It’s not “falling off track.”
It’s not moral failure or metabolic doom.
It’s simply your nervous system and musculoskeletal system saying “Hey! Can we recalibrate now or what?”
Nothing needs to be fixed.
Everything needs to be organized.
Let’s break it down…
Your Nervous System Is Overfed + Under-Resourced
Travel, family dynamics, crowds, hosting, overstimulation all spike your sympathetic nervous system ← That’s the fight or flight one.
But while that was going up, your rest/digest/recover system was… not even invited to the party!
So today you likely feel:
✓ Buzzing / wired
✓ Sluggish / foggy
✓ A little dissociated
✓ Weirdly emotional
✓ Like you haven’t stopped clenching your butt in a week…
Totally normal.
Your Muscles Are Responding to the Chaos
When your nervous system is up, your body tends to:
• Brace
• Grip
• Hold tension
• Move less efficiently
• “Forget” deep stabilizers
• Borrow from the wrong muscles (hi, hip flexors)
This is not damage.
This is adaptation.
You Don’t Need a Detox — You Need a Reset
What your body needs today is NOT punishment or perfection.
It needs clarity.
Organization.
Reconnection.
Here’s a simple little sequence to help your system come back online:
THE 3-STEP POST-HOLIDAY RESET
1. Reclaim Your Center
Seated or standing:
Gently rock your pelvis forward/back/side/side.
Find the middle — not gripping, not slumping.
Just organized.
2. Breathe
Put your hands on your ribs.
Inhale wide.
Exhale slow.
Let your pelvic floor (the hammock of muscles at the base of your pelvis aka your undercarriage) mirror your ribs and drop on inhale, gather on exhale.
1 minute. That’s it.
3. One Functional Move
Pick ONE move for today.
• Cat/cow
• Bridge
• Happy baby
• Squats
Move slowly.
Move intentionally.
Let your breath lead.
Your system will thank you almost instantly.
Because…
You’re not starting over.
You’re not broken.
You’re not behind.
You’re simply recalibrating — and your body is excellent at that.
The Post-Holiday Hangover is not something to feel guilty about.
It’s something to respond to with intelligence.
You don’t need to “fix” anything.
You just need to organize things.
And I’m really good at that. 😉
As always, I’ve got your back. I’ve got your front. And I’ve got your undercarriage
