Quick question: Do you know where your vagina is pointing?
Wow. I know. I’m coming in hot. But here’s the thing, alignment is everything. And when your pelvis is aligned with gravity, the rest of your spine and body fall into place.
When your vagina is aligned with gravity, your whole life aligns with the universe.
As a women’s health expert and advocate, I’m here to empower you to spend as much time, energy, and discipline on your insides as you do your outsides.
Fun Facts About Alissa:
- I believe it is never too late to become who we are meant to be and that we are capable of and built to evolve.
- The phrase “It’s like riding a bike” doesn’t apply to me. I am terrible at riding a bike. Give me tap shoes, however, and I’m ready for the spotlight!
- I love coffee. I know it’s basically anxiety juice, I still love it and do not ever want to stop drinking it.
- Yes, that’s me tap dancing with Jonathan Groff as he harnesses his inner Sutton Foster at the Miscast benefit. Watch here.
- I say vagina a lot. Actually, I say a lot of things I’m not “supposed” to say.
- I spent my 20’s touring the country with Broadway shows like A Chorus Line, Guys & Dolls, 42nd Street, and married to the wrong person.
- I spent my 30’s trying to figure out WTF happened, why I kept handing over my autonomy to the closest person who would take it, and how to stop repeating this pattern. Then I fell in love with myself. And Jeremy.
- I wear a size 5.5 shoe. I didn’t realize I had small feet until a college party where I saw everyone else’s “huge shoes” and thought it was so strange, that I realized I’m the outlier.
- When I say I’m going to do something, I do it. This applies to writing a book, producing a show, founding a company, or leaving a marriage in order to live the life I am meant to live.
- Yes, you can work with me! Here are your options!
- Pregnant? Postpartum? Want stronger muscles, better orgasms, and confident sneezes? I have the course for you!
- Looking for an elevated experience customized just for you? Working together 1:1 is for you!
- Don’t see what it is you’re looking for? Email me! You never know what’s in the works 😉
I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, knowledgeable, and confident in her body.
Let’s Get Real… Like, Really Real.
I spent the first 30 years of my life doing everything “right”:
- Married my college sweetheart
- Moved to NYC and fulfilled my dream of a successful musical theater career
- Toured the country with Broadway shows
- Taught Pilates at the most respected gyms and studios
But truthfully…
I was in a marriage where I cared more for my dog than my spouse, a career that awarded me for being someone else, and helped thousands of people flatten their abs and lift their butts for their upcoming beach vacations.
No wonder I was miserable.
True to how women are shown to handle things, I ended up suffering in silence and cut myself off from the love and support of my family and friends.
(Don’t worry. I wound up divorcing my first husband and later found the love of my life.)
Oh, and when it came to childbirth…
I quickly fell into the trap of “that happens to other women, but won’t happen to me!”
Even as an expert in women’s health and our pelvic floor, I ended up with fourth-degree tears (yep — everything that could possibly tear, TORE!) and it was excruciating.
Between the physical pain post-epidural and emotional pain soon after… I honestly don’t know which was worse.
Just like you, I felt entirely alone in this journey and had NO one to talk to about my hormones, my marriage, my sex life…
The list was endless.
That’s when I decided to become my own client and started to:
- Speak to myself with the same understanding, compassion, and patience that I extend to me clients
- Give myself small homework assignments, like 10 deep breaths every single day
- Move my body gently and with intention
- Nourish myself with movement, food, and rest (when it was possible)
Thanks to years of working with women with perinatal pelvic floor dysfunction, unable to tolerate vaginal penetration, postpartum, and feeling lost in their bodies and their sense of self — I knew what to do to reintegrate safely into my physical and emotional body.
Most importantly, I encouraged myself to ask for help… And it worked.
(I’m really good at what I do. I know because I’m not only the founder, I’m also a client 😉
The difference between staying stuck in that cycle and moving out of it was my knowledge of the female body and exactly where to start to come back home to myself. (Thanks, dance background!)
I know how hard it is to balance everything AND grow a whole human inside you.
That’s why I’m here to remind you that your physical and emotional health isn’t just important, it’s a basic need — just like taking a shower by yourself and eating regularly.
If you want to show up in your life like I know you do, the number one thing you can do for them is to take care of yourself and ask for support.
Because taboo or not, we’re gonna deal with hemorrhoids, discharge, gas, mind-blowing orgasms (hopefully), the works — and when we can talk about our experiences, we create space for other women to do the same.
I am not the person you come to to “bounce back” “lose the baby weight” or “look like [celebrity].”
Yes, I know how to do that, but I care more about how you FEEL living in your body. I care that you are SEEN, CARED for, and SAFE at home with yourself.
Are you ready to love what you see in the mirror?
